  • This small purifier is best suited for a room of 180 square feet or smaller. Putting it into a larger space will not help with bringing a high level of purity to the room.

  • The carbon pre-filters should be replaced every 3-4 months, while the HEPA filter can last for up to a year. These filters are sold in packages together for around $25.

  • Warranty and Price
  • The unit will sell for around $100, although this price will go up and down depending on the retailer. The model itself features a 3 year limited warranty to protect from defects.

  • Additional Features
  • This is a tower unit which can easily be stored in any location around a room without taking up too much space. Filter changes should be quick and easy.




Holmes HAP625 Air Purifier

  • The HEPA filter with this model is surrounded by an air-tight chamber which will make sure that no air escapes from your machine without being purified. An activated carbon pre-filter will work on eliminating odor from the home as well.

  • Area Covered
  • In a room of 210 square feet, you will receive 6 complete air changes in an hour. In a room of 525 square feet, you will only receive 2 complete changes. The more air changes you can get, the better you will be.

  • Maintenance Required
  • The HEPA filter should be replaced around once a year and will cost around $30 per replacement. Carbon filters must be replaced every 3 to 4 months and will come in 4 packs that retail around $15.

  • Warranty and Price
  • This model can usually be found for around $50 and when you consider that it comes with a 5 year limited warranty, this turns into a great deal for the investment you put into it.

  • Additional Features
  • This is a compact unit that can operate either standing up or on its side. A lighted display will alert you when the filters need to be changed.

  • The carbon filters will need to be changed about every 3 months, although the HEPA filter can last for around a year. Each carbon filter will cost around $3, while the HEPA may cost as much as $25.

  • Warranty and Price
  • The 5 year limited warranty given with the unit will provide repairs for any defects which could arise. You can usually purchase the unit itself for around $100.

  • Additional Features
  • A sleep timer will allow you to program the purifier to run for a certain amount of time before automatically shutting off. The digital display will alert you to when filter replacements needs to take place.
