Is a Hunter Air Purifier the Right Choice For Your Needs?

The Hunter air purifier that you choose could end up making your home a much easier place to breathe in, helping you to purify the air as much as possible.

If you have the need for an air purifier, from allergy trouble, sensitivity, or even just comfort, having one of these machines will be important for your home. Examination, however, will indicate which type of Hunter air purifier you should purchase.

Hunter makes a range of air purifiers which all use the same basic type of technology to function. The main filter component is different and will help to purify the air in your home in different, yet fundamentally basic ways. Depending on your particular needs for air filtration, choosing between these types will make all of the difference in the world.

Once you know which type of filter you would prefer, you can begin to choose the correct model for you.

The biggest factors of this decision will relate to how big of a space you want to purify with your machine and how many controls you want the unit to have.

Some units have a mechanical operation while others will indicate their performance using digital controls. Some units even include a remote control, making them a great choice for certain needs.

All Hunter air purifiers will have the same basic set of functions. Each of them contain three different fan speeds, with the quietest setting being no louder than a whisper. This can allow you to run your purifier without being subject to much distraction.

The first stage of filtration on all models is pushing the air through an activated carbon pre-filter. This function performs two basic purposes. The carbon in the filter works to absorb all unwanted odors, making it more pleasant to breathe. The pre-filter will help to catch the largest particles in the air, placing less stress on the main filter.

From here, you need to look into the specific types of filter to determine what the best models may be for your needs.

HEPA Filter System

HEPA filter technology uses one of the most effective forms of air purification in the field. This method takes a HEPA certified air filter and uses it to trap 99.7% of the particles that pass through the filter, particles up to 0.3 microns small.

Additionally, it is a washable filter. By running it under warm water at periodic intervals, you can cleanse the filter and after allowing it to dry, use it again.

A HEPA filter is one of the strongest types of filters available to use in your Hunter air purifier. Many other models and brands use HEPA filters to their advantage and those purifiers that do not have a HEPA filter will emulate the technology used in a HEPA. It is a smart choice because it is long-lasting and a very high rate of purification. Typically, a HEPA filter will only need replaced every year.

HEPAtech Filter System

This filter works in the same way as a traditional HEPA filter but with an added bonus. The filter has been given a permanent electrostatic charge, which works to attract even smaller particles than the traditional filter may capture.

These filters are guaranteed to purify over 99.7% of the contaminates in the air that are up to 0.3 microns small. This charge has been known to attract particles as small as 0.1 microns, however, making this filter potentially even more effective.

Most of the purifiers that have a HEPAtech filter will additionally feature an ion generator. This function works to release negative ions into the air as the air is being pushed out of the purifier. This makes the air feel and smell fresh, taking away the stale feeling that a room can often give the air inside it.
