How Does The Austin Air Healthmate Jr Stack Up?

An Austin Air Healthmate Jr will give you the chance to bring a very high level of purification to one of the smaller rooms in your home.

When you compare this model to the Healthmate 400 or the Healthmate Plus, it will compare well against the same levels of purification.

The Austin Air Healthmate Jr is simply rated to perform in a smaller room than either of these models. You will receive the same quality of air with this purifier as with the others, though.

Pros of the Austin Air Purifier

  • This unit will use 4 different types of technology to purify the air in your home.
  • Over 125 cubic feet of air can be pushed through your system per minute.
  • Absolutely no harmful ozone is produced by this unit, which many other purifiers will do.
  • An all-inclusive warranty will give you the best deal for the money you spend.

Cons of the Austin Air Purifier

  • Replacing the filters can be expensive, even though it is something that will happen only rarely.
  • The higher speeds will make more noise as the fan runs, potentially causing distraction.

What does Austin Air Healthmate Jr Cleaner offer its Users?

  • Technology and Filters

  • When the Healthmate Jr is used in your home, you can utilize 4 different types of filter technology to clean the air in your home. This will turn out air which has been purified using the same technology that many hospitals use and this should relate into the safest, most pure environment for your possible.

The design of the machine is such that your home should be exposed to this high purification very quickly and you should start to notice an immediate difference in your air quality.

The outer most layer of filtration is the pre-filter designed to catch the largest particles in the air, usually the ones which are visible.

Hair, lint, and pet dander will all fall into this category. It's important to have a level designed to stop these largest particles because they can easily clog the more important filters.

The second layer will still work as a pre-filter, although it is designed to catch smaller particles. The rest of the allergens you could be exposed to should be caught by this filter, which may include pollen or microscopic dust.

These first two layers of filtration will largely capture most of the particles that other purifiers will. The filtration of this system is not yet done, however.

Next will come the 6.5 pounds of carbon zeolite. Typically, carbon zeolite is used to control odors in most purifiers by breaking down the organic elements which turn into scents.

While it will perform this task with your Healthmate Jr, this amount will also effectively purify your air from any gases or chemicals which may be present. Breathing will become all around safer, making this a strong performance machine.

At the center of the filtration, you will find 30 feet of HEPA filters which are rated to health care efficiency. This type of HEPA filter will work on capturing 99.97% of the smallest particles, up to 0.03 microns small.

This should take all contamination in the form of germs, bacteria, and other viruses from your air. After this filter, your home should be clean and safe to spend time in without any harmful elements present in the air.

  • Area Covered
  • The Healthmate Jr is best suited for rooms of 700 square feet or smaller. While this covers half of the size of a room that the Austin Air Healthmate 400 will, it still covers more distance than nearly any other purifier on the market.

Combine this with the multiple air changes your room will receive in an hour, and this is a very strong unit.

  • Maintenance Needed
  • These purifiers are guaranteed to run for 5 years before the filters need to be replaced. The design has them taking in air from all sides, which can spread the amount of work being performed around the filter.

The high-efficiency of the pre-filters should extend the life of the main filters and this will relate into you using your filters for at least 5 years.

You should vacuum your pre-filters at least every 6 months, however. This will always keep the air flow open and should help your machines to run at the top rate possible.

If you don't do this, you may not have a functioning machine after time because the pre-filters will become so clogged, that no air will be able to flow through your air cleaner.

  • Noise Levels
  •   The higher speed that you run your machine, the more noise you will naturally make. When the unit is pushing nearly 200 cubic feet of air through the fan per minute, it will be running at a very high speed that may cause a great deal of noise.

The softer speed, at only 28 cubic feet of air per minute, will run much more quietly and will make less of a noise.

  • Price and Warranty
  • These machines are guaranteed to run for 5 years. This protects both the internal machinery of the unit as well as the filters themselves. As long as they are being run under normal home conditions, you will be able to have purity for at least 5 years.

You should also be able to purchase this unit for only $300, which is cheaper than many other purifiers in the same class.

Considering how much this air cleaner model outperforms others, however, it is a great investment.

Comparing the Austin Air Healthmate Jr to other brands of air purifier, you will be left with this single air cleaner which can outshine nearly any other. For the best level of protection possible, an Austin Air model is the right way to go.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
